Why come to counselling?

Life is tough. We get bruised and broken-hearted. There are times where we need someone's help, walking with us. Counselling can help us understand ourselves and our situations and find our way to healing.

Where I work

I work in person near Ross-On-Wye and online.

Why choose me?

It's not easy to know which therapist to approach, especially if you are just browsing the internet. Maybe try a session before making the decision and whether it's me or another person you feel drawn to work with, go with that inkling.

How do I work?

I incorporate concepts from the three main psychotherapeutic approaches of Person Centred, Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I love to lean into the imagination, metaphor and the symbolic- I understand these as the language of the heart. I also find that attuning to the understanding the body holds, takes us deeper. We are each filled with resources towards healing, and so it is about finding out together how to draw towards that creative flow.

Qualifications

I am clinically trained as a counsellor to level 7, hold a Masters from the University of Cambridge and am an accredited member of the NCPS (National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society) and abide by its ethical guidelines.

Can't afford counselling?

As I have seen that counselling can be the catalyst of yearned-for change, I am passionate about access to affordable counselling for those on low incomes. In addition to my private practice, I work at www.listeningpost.org.uk in Gloucestershire, a charity offering a 'donate what you can afford' counselling service for adults.
